  II am both Concierge and Front Office Manager at Upper House – a small 5-star hotel within the Gothia Towers Hotel. Trip Advisor has awarded us as the best hotel in Sweden for the third year in a row with the title Travelers Choice. Upper House has 53 rooms, our own lobby on the 25th floor, a Michelin star restaurant and a spa that won the title Best Spa Experience in Sweden 2018.   When I realised my passion lay in the culinary arts, I enrolled in Le Cordon Bleu Ottawa and graduated with a Diploma in Cuisine and Pastry. However I wanted to learn more about restaurant management, so I chose to go to Swiss Hotel Management School (SHMS) to take on a Higher Diploma in Hotel and Resort Management and Events. Being able to start directly in the second year of the course was an added advantage! In my final (third) year, I chose Business Administration as my major before I moved on to Hotel Institute Montreux (HIM) to complete my Bachelor in Business Administration while specialising in Hotel and Restaurant Management.

  South Korean SHMS alumnus Jungmi Kim always dreamt of working at a Four Seasons Hotel & Resorts property and is currently living her dream, having found a position in the Sales team at the recently opened Four Seasons Hotel Seoul. Jungmi was one of the first batch of employees hired during Four Season Hotel Seoul’s pre-opening phase. Interestingly, her first job after graduating from Swiss Hotel Management School (SHMS) also happened to be at a pre-opening hotel, as a Front Desk Agent at the Rosewood Abu Dhabi.

  Having worked at various part-time jobs in F&B in his late teens, Jason Kim quickly became captivated by the hospitality industry. Since then, his career in hospitality has taken him from Switzerland to Thailand, Russia, USA and now back to his native country, South Korea. In February this year, he led the opening of Aloft Seoul Myeongdong, a 223-room hotel located in the heart of Seoul’s shopping district.

  Chief Expert for China’s National Team in the international Wordkskills competition

  Tony’s experiences from Restaurant Supervisor to General Manager Le Meridien Zhengzhou has uniquely qualified him to support China’s National Team during the prestigious Worldskills Competition. In this capacity, he will also act as the Skill Expert for the Restaurant Service Skill category and mentor and guide the national Chinese champion.

  At 23 years of age, Gabriel Yesyurun became a Head of Department at Sofitel Forebase Chongqing and currently, he’s the youngest regional manager at AccorHotels in Asia-Pacific. Gabriel shares the reasons that helped him decide to return to SHMS to upgrade his education.

  Jennifer Lombard Knight, Assistant Front Office Manager at the InterContinental Regency Hotel in Bahrain and a graduate of SHMS has been recognised 2013’s young hotelier of the year, Middle East.
  
  As the winner of the award, Jennifer was deemed to have shown a passion and drive in her career and a fresh perspective to hotel management. Jennifer, who graduated from SHMS in 2006, says, "You don’t need years and years. If you have new ideas, if you have new initiatives, it is all about the action and the creativity and just putting it into practice that will make it happen for them."
